Font Grove Kitchen | Designing a part of my late Mother’s home

There is something so integral about the kitchen. It becomes the heart of the home and a place of daily interaction. These interactions are simple; a good morning, a coffee press, washing the dishes, eating takeout.

My mother, Susan, spent her free time flipping her homes and studying design. She was not trained in design, however she spent many hours dreaming up what she could turn into reality. This home, an early 1900s Cape, over the course of eight years expanded from a 1300 sqft to 3000 sqft.

The last room left to finish was the kitchen. This was because she had been going back and forth on a lot of design decisions and cost analysis. A year and half after she passed I decided to work on this space to honor her design and for the enjoyment of designing with her in mind.
